Cosmo Caixa – Science for everybody in Barcelona

You don't like boring museum? We neither!! So let's go to Cosmo Caixa!
Cosmo Caixa is an interactive museum in Barcelona, which offers its visitors a lot of activities and permanent and temporary exhibitions to give a greater and understandable insight into the world of science. Every visitor can really explore science and take an active part in this.
One of the Highlight in Cosmo Caixa Barcelona is the Flooded Forest, a recreation of piece of Amazonian rainforest ecosystem of a size of 1 km², featuring piranhas, crocodiles and other animals as well as tyoical plants for this zone.
Cosmo Caixa is not to be seen as a normal (and sometimes boring.. psssst) museum. No, it is an interactive museum, where getting knowledge about what is going on in the world in fun and first of all interesting.
At the moment there is the exhibition "Epidèmia", which shows the visitors how diseases have shaped human history. Epidèmia explains you by using artistical elements and literary, musical and cinematic references some of the most fearsome diseases of the world and their impact on society. Visitors can discover the different types of organisms causing diseases and how they function. Furthermore it is shown how diseases can be prevented. All this in a really understandable and quite interesting way.
This museum is definitely highly recommendable for children!

open: Tue to Sun and Public Holidays from 10am until 8pm, Mo just open during the Christmas and Easter Holidays and in Summer
Entrance: regular 3 €, reduced 2 € and with the Barcelona Card free entrance
