Plaça Catalunya meaning in English "Catalonia Square” is a large square in Barcelona considered as the center of the city, aswell, connects new and old town. Most of the important streets and avenues meet at Plaça Catalunya: Passeig de Gràcia, Rambla de Catalunya, Las Ramblas or Portal de l'Àngel.

The square is also known for the sculptures, fountains and benches, a place where you will enjoy for a sunny afternoon... there is nothing better than sitting in there and see hundreds of people from various cultures passing through the square.
As a small recommendation we want to say: Beware of pigeons! ;) ...
Also, around the square you will found a lot of large department stores as El Corte Ingles, FNAC, Hard Rock Cafe and Café Zurich, a popular café and social meeting place in the city.
