La Sagrada Familia Barcelona

Sacred basilica, under construction, building with a unique history and a powerful symbolism: this is the Sagrada Familia, a must see in Barcelona. The project was born in the late nineteenth century and passed into the hands of Gaudi who work there until his sudden death.

Then the Civil War and the burning of the Temple of the crypt and the destruction of Gaudí's workshop with most of its models slowed down the work. The building is still under construction. It is particularly striking for the fusion of modernism Catalan architecture and a traditional religiosity, which combine into the grandeur of the structure and the spirituality collection. Every stone and sculpture of the Holy Family tells a story. The twelve towers represent the apostles, and its vertical shape recalls the union between earth and sky. Inside is a museum-foundation with exposed projects and the final design.
