Spend a day in the nature!
For sure you read a plenty of touristic guides, before coming to Barcelona. Sagrada Familia, Torre Agbar, Park Güell … These and many more attractions will be mentioned as important tourist destinations. For sure, it is worth to see them…
However, don’t you want to explore something untouched, distant to touristic crowds?
Then we have a pleasant green place to recommend! – Parc de Labirint d’Horta
As the name indicates it’s a labyrinth park in Horta, the oldest park located in Barcelona’s north. It was built in 1792
including two large pavilions. In the past the park as well as the buildings was a meeting point for the elite. The high society arranged events and festivals there.
The park has two different gardens: The Labyrinth and the Romantic Garden
It is easy to get lost within the labyrinth. If you need an orientation – the statue of Eros
(the god of love) is located right in the middle of the labyrinth.
The Romantic garden is a wonderful arrangement of beautiful flowers and a romantic waterfall.
Due to the entire romantic atmosphere within both parcs, many couples use the place as a secret haven.
The labyrinth is open throughout the entire year, but the opening hours vary from month to month:
- January to February: 10 a.m - 6 p.m
- March: 10 a.m - 7 p.m
- April: 10 a.m - 8 p.m
